TITLE: Maintenance Admin Clerk – Part-Time

RESPONSIBILITIES: The staff position responsible for assisting the Maintenance management team by processing all work order requests and associated paperwork for materials, invoicing, and recordkeeping. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Works closely with other Authority personnel to ensure all objectives are achieved for the Maintenance Department.
- Performs clerical and bookkeeping duties for the Maintenance
- Responsible for tracking union employee time and attendance.
- Helps ensure safe operating condition of equipment by documenting preventive maintenance requirements.
- Assist inventory control specialist with checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders for parts and supplies; verifying receipt of parts and
- Compiles data from vendor invoices and supporting documents to verify accuracy of billing data and to ensure receipt of items ordered; Compares invoices against purchase orders and shipping and receiving documents to verify receipt of items
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance manager or Director of Maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an office or customer service setting.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‐solving skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task while staying organized
- Adept at using Microsoft Office products
- Ability to learn fleet maintenance and accounting software programs
- Ability to work effectively and independently with possibility of frequent interruptions
- High school diploma required
- 50 WPM typing

TITLE: LANtaVan Scheduler
CLASSIFICATION: Level 7
DEPARTMENT: Rider Resources
REPORTS TO: Director of Rider Resources and Communications/ Rider Resources Manager
SUPERVISES: None

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Scheduler works at the direction of the Director of Rider Resources and Communications and Rider Resources Manager. Responsibilities include duties required to monitor the performance and quality of LANtaVan services; develop and implement improvement plans for service; develop and analyze rider schedules; and maintain the data system tools used by the Rider Resources Department functions of the Authority.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Research and analysis of ridership patterns and service quality of LANtaVan services.
- Monitor on time performance, late trips, and problems trips for LANtaVan services.
- Manage all subscription updates and out of county trips.
- Review next day schedule. Manage late scheduling trips and speed violations.
- Manage and create groups/ core runs.
- Create run containers/ run container times.
- Soliciting input from riders and community stakeholders regarding LANtaVan services.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of service plans and operating schedules.
- Assist with the data management of ridership statistics.
- Analyze and recommend service adjustments.
- Monitor accuracy and integrity of collected data and pursue necessary actions to remediate identified problems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director and Manager of Rider Resources.
The conduct of many of the duties of this position may require field work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High skill level in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Database software experience a plus.
- Strong aptitude with technology.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Detail oriented and a strong aptitude in problem solving.
- Ability to work well with co-workers and in cross-functional teams including members of all departments of the Authority.
- Ability to deal with the public and represent the Authority in public settings.
- Project management skills and ability to work independently.
- Associate’s Degree preferred in computer science, logistics, or related field. Experience in transportation scheduling a plus but not required. Relevant experience will be considered as a substitute to educational qualifications.

TITLE: Operations Admin Clerk
CLASSIFICATION: Level 1
DEPARTMENT: LANtaBus Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES: The staff position responsible for the daily booking and payroll for the location to which the clerk is assigned. The duties include recording payroll statistics, daily booking, answering consumer information calls, selling tickets, counting fares and ticket sales, and assisting with customer inquiries.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- May be responsible for assigning buses to LANtaBus operators during certain hours.
- Responsible for daily processing of payroll, tracking attendance of LANtaBus operators.
- Responsible for daily booking of operator assignments including sick and vacation hold downs.
- Responsible for various reports and statistics as required.
- Communicate with Customer Service to supply schedules and service disruption alerts when needed.
- Working with employees and vendors for processing uniform orders and maintain records of employee uniform accounts.
- Keep a current log of lost and found items recovered from buses.
- Sell LANta Bus and LANta van tickets (Easton only)
- Answer incoming phone calls from hotline.
- Other clerical duties as needed such as verifying policy change sign off with drivers, maintaining vacation picks for drivers, prepare run guides and copies of boards for drivers before board picks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma.
- A minimum of one year’s experience in related work.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to operate office machines and coin sorting machines.
- Ability to handle personnel management problems.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.

TITLE: Bus Operator
CLASSIFICATION: Union Contract Covered Position
DEPARTMENT: LANTA Operations
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES: Must operate buses in a safe and efficient manner; sell tickets and transfers; distribute route information and respond to consumer information questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner; register fares and passenger counts and perform necessary public relations and marketing/sales tasks.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Operate buses on various assigned LANTA routes.
- Sell tickets and transfers and maintain stack at adequate levels.
- Answer questions from passengers and general public.
- Handle Emergency conditions safely and quickly.
- Operate two-way radio system per Authority instructions.
- Participate in sales efforts, such as handing out or accepting discount coupons, and distribute information or promotional materials.
- Represent the Authority before the riding and general public.
- Avoid hazardous situations.
- Perform other similar duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma and CDL driver’s license.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals, policy statements and instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
- Knowledge of all LANta Bus routes and operator schedules and LANTA equipment.
- Good past work experience or obvious academic/technical school skills and performance.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public.
- Good driving record including avoidance of accidents and moving violations.
- Knowledge of the Lehigh Valley Road system.

TITLE: Road and Service 1 and 2

Hours: 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM nights and weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Road and Service 1 and 2 is responsible for cleaning and servicing both buses and facilities. He/she is generally a helper for either Service and Road Personnel or Mechanics.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Road and Service Person 1 and 2 will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
- Fueling and washing of vehicles
- Servicing of buses and minor repairs.
- Road calls to assist with bus repairs
- Service/cleaning of facilities as required
- Perform other related tasks as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma
- Must be able to obtain a CDL driver’s license, or currently possess a current CDL.
- Ability to read and understand service and maintenance manuals
- Follow written and verbal directions
- Demonstrate mechanical ability and aptitude for learning
- Good past work experience or academic/technical school skills and performance
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The staff position is the key contact point within LANTA for its customers – those seeking to utilize the public transportation system (LANtaBus, LANtaVan, LANtaFlex, other services) or those conducting business with LANTA. The Rider Resources Representative is part of the customer service team which assures the most current information is provided quickly and correctly, inquiries and registrations are processed efficiently and cataloged, and service delivery concerns are effectively handled at the proper levels. The Director of Rider Resources and Communication.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Communicate with passengers via phone in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide back-up for service information lines.
- Provide knowledgeable service information to LANtaBus users (and potential users) including fares, hours of operation, eligibility criteria, registration procedures and so forth.
- Mail out service and marketing information as required (maps, schedules, procedures, etc.).
- Document all service-related complaints, comments and commendations in the database.
- Help passengers navigate the LANTA website and LANtaBus application on mobile devices.
- Assist passengers navigate LANTA website and LANtaBus application on mobile devices.
- Perform general clerical functions and provides support for development/marketing projects.
- Maintain LANTA public information systems including timetable distribution.
- Operating the LANtaVan reservation line and assisting callers with placing reservations.
- Answering LANtaVan Service of operations questions
- Mailing LANtaVan applications
- Perform other duties that are consistent with the Customer Service Department vision and as may be assigned by the Assistant Manager of Customer Service.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school degree with a minimum of three years’ experience as a receptionist, telephone operator or customer service position.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills, able to effectively and appropriately communicate with LANTA’s customers. Must enjoy working with people.
- Ability to practice active listening, giving full attention to the caller, taking time to understand his/her requests or questions without interrupting and asking for clarification, when necessary.
- Knowledge of administrative clerical procedures and systems, such as database technology and other office procedures.
- Ability to read and understand bus schedules and timetables.
- Familiar with local street geography and the location of key community/employment facilities. Ability to work with maps.
- Must possess some basic PC skills.
- Spanish speaking is required..
- Must have a flexible work schedule.
The location of work shifts for this position may be at the LANTA administrative offices or at a LANTA transit center. Field work may be required in performing the duties of this position.
